Family Sunset Session | Louisville KY Family Photographer

While I absolutely, in every single way, adore photographing families with little little kiddos, bring me the pre-teens ALL. DAY. LONG. This age is so much fun because I feel it can go two ways in the same session. I work to pull out the childishness that is still alive inside of them, and then I can catch those glimpses of the future teenage self that is right around the corner. Sometimes it’s simply with words and sometimes it’s posing.

In this session you can see playfulness of the kids, but also maturity. The mom and dad were just so laid back and wonderful, too. I love the colors, layers, textures of everything they chose to wear. And of course we had the absolutely most beautiful Kentucky evening.

Saylor Family | Louisville KY Family Photographer

Everything about this session was a dream. The Sailors were open to my wardrobe styling and almost every piece pictured here I selected in their styling guide! Mixing and matching colors and textures and accessories helps not only to give some depth and interest to the photo – but makes them stand out from other sessions. Also, planning ahead takes some of the worry and the stress out of the equation = you are able to just show up and love on your people.

We planned this session for a few weeks – I had a clear vision of the look and feel of this shoot and a new location I wanted to try. Not only are they all super good looking people, this entire family is made of kind hearts and warm personalities. I wanted to show their connection, their warmth and their fun and hip sense of style. But not only the wardrobe, documenting their wild hair, summer skin and sweet little smiles were so important for me to capture.

McCrocklin Family | Louisville KY Family Photographer

This session was a total dream. I’ve photographed the McCrocklin’s since they were expecting their daughter. We’ve done mini sessions since, and produced some beautiful images together. This was their first Full Family Session and the first time using my wardrobe styling. Stephanie was completely blown away not by only the sheer number of photos she received in her gallery, but also the variety. The details. The slow breaths and the time that was available to truly capture their family story.

Anniversary Session | Atlantic No. 5 | Louisville KY Family Photographer

Back to blogging! I met this lovely couple downtown at a back to school event late summer. They had just moved to Louisville, secured a spot at our *favorite* school and were days from celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. They had a photographer they loved in their home town, but were looking for a new local connection. Enter, a relationship meant to be, built on a solid foundation of toddlers, coffee and a love for emotive imagery.

These perfectly sweet sisters had a perfect little tea party in the sunset. Have you seen a prettier twirling dress? I love the way this family just fits together in the best pile of hugs and snuggles. Enjoy!
