Fun in the Highlands! Oh the photographs that can be made when simply letting kids be kids. 🙂
I usually take each child and spend one on one time with them to get a good realistic portrait (without being bothered by other sibs) and see if I can get a genuine giggle. We talk about what they’re wearing, who their best friend is, etc. etc.
This crew loves to play and they LOVE to read. Enjoy our fun Bardstown Road session!
I agree. It’s about time I put my own little babes on this here blog. A little family outing for dinner and ice cream tonight. Gah I love these people so. xo
Cheers to overcast and cloudy weather! Tried as we might to shoot outside, the murky and drizzly day held for a little while, but eventually we wound up back inside the new Busse homestead.
I love love love the results of this lifestyle/home session with these sweet girls. Music, books, swings, laughter and snuggles came together for some wonderful, real life images of these girls – just as they are today. We captured things that will make mom and dad’s hearts sing when the kids are bigger. Twinkling eyes, their favorite stories, the first song learned on the violin.

So much personal detail in this sweet little nursery. So much love for their sweet baby girl. Welcome, Annabelle!
These first time parents really have it together – and are smitten with their sweet girl. Annabelle was supposed to be sleepy for her first close ups (she had other plans)! She finally gave up the good fight in the last ten minutes of our session and we were able to get the sleepy snuggly baby shot that Mom was hoping for. The first-time Grandparents were in town, and I got to grab a few shots of them with baby girl also.
This time in your lives goes by SO quickly, and gives me all kinds of warm and fuzzies. Thank you SO MUCH for inviting me into your home, Kristin and Drew!
Where to start. We were so fortunate to take a long trip to Hawaii this summer and visit with one of my favorite people on the planet – and her two drop-dead gorgeous children. These kids were practically born in the ocean and cut teeth on macadamia nuts. Their mama is completely selfless, has an amazing sense of adventure and is mighty with compassion.
Allyson, I love you (and Maile and Xan) to the end of the world and back. xo
