You. Guys. Revisiting these pictures makes me want to do Derby all over again!
I’ve never ever done “mini sessions” before the photos you’ll see in this post. I pride myself on putting in time and effort to getting to know my clients and making everyone’s photography session a little different, a little personal, a little unique.
That said… I had this idea and I HAD to give it a go. Jumping in with both feet, I started planning the first Derby Mini Sessions. People here in Kentucky are just wild about Derby, and getting our children close to horses isn’t an every day affair.
We started super early in the morning with sunrise, chickens, a sweet dog and the horses. We had planned to switch the horses out after each session, but this old fella did so well we used him for 95% of the day. He was over my shenanigans as soon as they started and was actually napping by the time we wrapped up.
I had a REALLY tough time narrowing down the photos to an appropriate amount for a blog post. Everyone had a great time and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I couldn’t have done it alone. A huge bear hug of gratitude to Julie and Jessica and Red Sunset Farms! xo
